ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Andrew Waters is an author and conservationist residing in Pittsboro, North Carolina. He is the author of Backcountry War: The Rise of Francis Marion, Banastre Tarleton, and Thomas Sumter (Westholme Publishing), named a finalist for the 2025 American Battlefield Trust’s “Book Prize for History.” He is also the author of To The End of the World: Nathanael Greene, Charles Cornwallis, and the Race to the Dan (Westholme Publishing), runner-up for the 2021 Fraunces Tavern Museum Book Award, and The Quaker and the Gamecock: Nathanael Greene, Thomas Sumter, and the Revolutionary War for the Soul of the South (Casemate Publishers). Andrew’s articles on the American Revolution also appear at the Journal of the American Revolution.
